David Egan (1989) processes the uncomfortable mysteries of small scale, vernacular pop culture theories and histories into a considered set of beguiling, mysterious objects. His paintings, textiles and sculptures hint at an unnamed energy coursing beneath a known surface, defying attempts at understanding and organisation.

With Patrick Miller, David Egan directed and curated the Museum of Natural Mystery, a residentially based ARI in North Perth. He also founded and co-directs independent record label and publishing house Badminton Bandit. Egan has exhibited locally, at Galleria (Premix and Seria Ludo, 2011), nationally (Hire a magician to speak on your behalf, he is a great entertainer and the audience is blown away, TCB Inc, Melbourne) and internationally (The Yellow Curtain, The Institute of Jamais Vu, London, 2012) and is currently based in Melbourne, Australia.
