About the Directors

Jamie Macchiusi received first class honours from Curtin University in 2007, having completed a BA in Art in 2004. He has exhibited work locally, nationally and internationally and has independently curated a number of exhibitions, including 2008's For a Moment... at the Moores Building, Fremantle. In 2007 he was invited to participate in the Fondazione Antonio Ratti Advanced Workshops in Visual Arts in Como, Italy. He and Andrew Varano recently co-produced Exhibition Match, an eight-hour allegorical basketball game held at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art.

Andrew Varano completed a BA in Art at Curtin University in 2009, receiving first class honours in 2010. He has participated in the Fondazione Antonio Ratti Advanced Workshops in Visual Arts in Como, Italy and was the inaugural recipient of the Dr Harold Schenberg Art Prize at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art's 2010 Hatched: National Graduate Show. Andrew has exhibited work in a number of exhibitions including A Camel is a Horse Designed by a Committee at Palazzo Buziol in Venice (2009) and The Building Show (2008), which he also co-produced. He is currently a PhD candidate at Curtin University.

Gemma Weston received first class honours in Art at Curtin University in 2007 where she now works as a Sessional Academic. She has exhibited both individually and collaboratively with Jamie Macchiusi, with whom she also co-curated The End in 2009. Gemma has also published writing locally - including catalogue essays for Rounds, Mark Parfitt's Dream Bore, 2010 and Plan A, 2011 - and nationally, in Un magazine, Artlink and Art & Australia.
